The cultural program of the Rey Juan Carlos University adds this week two new activities aimed at all artists, professionals or music fans. During the first semester of this course that has just begun, students and other staff from the university community will be able to participate in a musical workshop and a modern song cycle. Both activities have limited places and registration is now open.
Musical Workshop
During this first semester, the Móstoles campus will host the Musical Workshop. It will work on preparation in vocal technique, musical interpretation and dramatic scene and movement, oriented towards the musical genre. The individual and group interpretation of a varied repertoire in terms of genres and styles will also be worked on. In addition, the possibility of preparing a joint piece with the URJC Orchestra is being considered.
The duration of the workshop will be 20 hours spread over 8 sessions. 1 ECTS credit will be awarded for active participation throughout the program. The appointments will take place on Saturdays, from 12:00 to 14:30 from October 23 to December 11 in room S010 of the Laboratorios III building on the Móstoles Campus. The price of the workshop is €20 and registration can be made through the following link. Places are limited and by order of registration.
Modern Song Cycle
The other activity offered by the URJC is the Modern Song Cycle. The course is aimed at any artist, professional or amateur of the Rey Juan Carlos University who wants to improve the quality of musical content creation for castings or digital platforms (Instagram, YouTube, etc.), digital distribution (Spotify, iTunes, etc. .) or improve the community of followers.
The content of the cycle will deal with topics such as audio editing programs and their use, performance techniques at the microphone, sound editing and mixing, ways to record a self-tape or introduction to artist marketing.
In order to get the most out of this series, which is being held online, it will be necessary to have a good internet connection and a webcam, to have an audio interface (sound card) to which you can connect a condenser. It is recommended to use a PC or laptop, avoiding other devices such as tablets and mobile phones.
The activity will be carried out in two groups of a maximum of 10 people each. The first group will have its sessions on Monday mornings from October 18 to December 13 from 11:00 a.m. to 14:00 p.m. The afternoon group will do it on the same days from 16:00 p.m. to 19:00 p.m. 1 ECTS credit will also be awarded for active participation throughout the program. Places are limited and by order of registration through this link. The registration fee is €20. More information on the social networks of the Culture area.
