A new success for the Conference on Materials Engineering

The event held on November 5 in one of the Assembly Halls on the Móstoles Campus has helped students to have a clearer vision of their future employment.

It is clear that the science of materials is advancing at a dizzying pace. In the future, the production and transformation of these will make our environment much more intelligent. On the one hand, the environments in which we live will adapt to our needs and will be safer and more efficient, on the other hand, it will allow us to develop materials that perceive the world around them, changing their properties in response to stimuli.

To get to know the future more closely, the Master in Structural Materials for New Technologies has organized the Materials Engineering Conference for the twentieth year. The objective of this is simple, to provide students in this field with a vision of this engineering and its development in the business field.

From the Assembly Hall of the Móstoles Campus, the conference was opened by the director of the Alejandro Ureña Fernández School, who subsequently gave way to the speakers mentioned there. Experts who were some of the highlights of this event, since they were recognized engineers in the area of materials, both from the world of industry and from the field of research.

The School was in luck as the URJC researcher on composite materials, Xoan Xosé Fernández, has recently been awarded the Prize for Best Doctoral Thesis by the General Assembly of AEMAC (Spanish Association of Composite Materials).

The day, which has been aimed at students from different engineering fields, and more specifically for Materials Engineering students, has been a complete success in terms of attendance and direct interaction between those who gathered there and the speakers.
