Walk towards a more sustainable city

The URJC celebrates the APS conference 'Move without bad feelings: Walking towards objective 11 of the SDGs 2030'. Tourism students and double degrees with degrees such as History and ADE presented their contributions to achieve a more environmentally friendly transport.

Last Thursday, December 9, the APS conference 'Move without bad humor: Walking towards objective 11 of the SDGs 2030' took place in the Hall of Degrees of the Fuenlabrada campus of the Rey Juan Carlos University. The initiative is part of the homonymous Service-Learning Project of the Department of Business Economics Adm., Dir. and Org.), Applied Economics II and Fundamentals of Economic Analysis.

The event stood out for the important participation of the students of the Degree in Tourism, the Double Degree in Tourism and ADE and the Double Degree in Tourism and History, who presented works and contributions to achieve more sustainable transport and collaborate with objective 11 of the SDGs and the role of cities as safe, inclusive, resilient and sustainable settlements.

Víctor Fernández Morales, co-founder of La Buena Huella, a consulting firm specialized in sustainability and environmental responsibility, participated in the conference and spoke about transport and commitment to the environment with his presentation 'Mobility towards sustainable development 2030'. The inauguration of the act was carried out by the vice-rector for Innovation, Transfer and Relations with Companies, Fernando García-Muiña.

For her part, Susana García Moreno, director of the Department of Business Economics (Adm., Dir. and Org), Applied Economics II and Fundamentals of Economic Analysis, was in charge of closing the conference. The organizers describe this first day as successful, and hope that it will be consolidated in future academic years.
