The High Performance Research Group in Digitization and Business Law (DYDEM) of the Rey Juan Carlos University organizes the International Congress 'Digitized and sustainable agri-food cooperative companies'.

The objective of the symposium, which will be held in a hybrid manner on December 16 and 17, is, in line with the axes of the Government's Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, to show the benefits that digital transformation and sustainability can bring to agri-food cooperatives, helping, among other things, to face the demographic challenge of the 'emptied Spain'.

To this end, the Congress offers a multidisciplinary perspective in which experts from several Spanish universities and from countries such as Brazil and France will analyze aspects such as the new business models for agricultural products, the digitization of the wine sector or the digitization of societies in what regards Artificial Intelligence and BlockChain, among others.

From the group they indicate that it is “essential to attract young people to agri-food activity and to do so and to make these activities attractive through the expectation of economic sustainability for families. Digitization and new business models can contribute to meeting the demographic challenge”.

The congress will serve to show cooperatives and SMEs the possibilities they have to carry out these necessary processes that directly connect with the axes of the recovery and transformation plans and the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
