What to do with the tests if you are positive?

What to do with the tests if you are positive? What to do with the tests if you are positive?

The URJC publishes a document of questions and answers for students and teachers to clarify their doubts about taking exams in the context of the sixth wave. Students who test positive must notify the university and submit a Responsible Declaration to be able to take an exam on a date other than the one set.

URJC wants its teachers and students to have all the information on how to act in order to take an exam when you are positive for COVID 19. To do this, the Office of the Vice President for Academic Planning has prepared different materials with which it is intended to resolve the doubts of the university community on this subject.

In the document, it is stated that “in the case of a positive for COVID by a student, they have to report their case to the Madrid Health System (900 102 112). Subsequently, whether or not you have received a response from the Madrid Health System, you must communicate your positive to the email and complete the COVID Form. The student will receive a Responsible Declaration document, to fill in verifying your positive and return it signed. Once the COVID Monitoring Unit of the university has confirmed the positive with the documentation provided by the student, the Coordinator of the corresponding Degree will be contacted for the adaptation of the exam. This adaptation will consist of the programming, by the teacher responsible for the subject, of a new exam date, which will be held before the closing date of the minutes. The exam will continue to be face-to-face, and of the same type as the one scheduled for the rest of the subject group”.

In addition, the document resolves doubts about what to do if you have been in close contact or if you have symptoms compatible with COVID but do not have a positive test result, among other assumptions.

Cancellation or rescheduling of exams

Regarding the cancellation or rescheduling of the tests, the text indicates that “the exam for the entire group of students of a subject is only rescheduled in terms of date if it is the teacher who suffers a positive COVID and the Department of the teacher can't find a substitute for monitoring the exam. Positive students confirmed by the COVID Monitoring Unit of the same group will have their exam date rescheduled, which will be carried out following the face-to-face modality and the same type of exam as that carried out for the entire group.”
