The Rey Juan Carlos University is among the 400 best academic institutions in the world with an age of less than 50 years. This is how it reflects THE Young University Ranking, an international list that positions the different centers according to indicators based on the activity pillars of a university: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international perspective.
According to these indicators, the Madrid university has had notable growth in the areas of Income from Industry, occupying the third position among the public universities of the Community of Madrid under 50 years of age. Regarding the field of research, the URJC has also grown in this indicator compared to 2021.
In the year 2022, the Rey Juan Carlos is positioned as the second young university in the Community of Madrid that grows the most in the research indicator. In addition, in absolute terms, in the citations indicator, the URJC ranks second among public universities in the region under 50 years old. At general levels, URJC ranks 351-400 among the best universities in the world with less than 50 years of history.

THE Young University Rankings annually provides a list of the best universities in the world with less than 50 years since its creation. The data for this ranking comes from THE World University Rankings, evaluating 13 performance indicators that are the pillars of a university's activity: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international perspective.
Performance indicators are grouped into five areas: Teaching, Research, Citations, International Outlook, and Industry Revenue (Knowledge Transfer). An average is obtained from all these indicators, which is the one that positions the University globally in the ranking.
With the Teaching indicator, the academic reputation of the institution is analyzed by the ratio of academic staff to students, ratio of doctors or institutional income dedicated to the payment of academic staff. In Research, productivity is observed through the number of publications, and in Citation, the average number of times researchers from the University have been cited.
With these sections you can see how much the institution has contributed to global knowledge and what its influence is. The international perspective measures the degree of attraction for international students and academics and the collaboration with researchers and publications from other countries. Finally, the industry income indicator analyzes the collaboration between the University and the company through the transfer of knowledge and innovation and the income obtained by the University for these activities.
