The transformation of the business of prostitution, from the streets to cyberspace, will focus the conference 'Prostitution 2.0. Migrating to digital frontiers'. This first chapter of the Dialogues 25' cycle will feature the filmmaker Mabel Lozano, director of the Goya-winning documentary, 'Biography of a Woman's Corpse'. This short film tells the story of Yamiled, a Colombian woman, former trafficking victim, protected witness, and murdered in 2009 by a hitman hired by her pimp, and will be screened during the session.

Lozano, who, in addition to being a filmmaker, is an important activist against trafficking in women, will talk with renowned experts about the old and new forms of prostitution. Trafficking affects a total of 45.000 women and girls in Spain, of which 79% are sexually exploited, according to data published by the Woman's Week Foundation last September.

This dialogue will take place this Wednesday 23 at 12 in the morning in the Aula Magna of Lecture Hall I on the Fuenlabrada Campus and will be attended by the rector, Javier Ramos López, who will open the meeting.

Dialogue to connect with society

On the occasion of its 25th Anniversary, the Rey Juan Carlos University has scheduled a series of meetings with experts on different current affairs under the label 'Dialogos 25'. This initiative aims to offer the university community new approaches and points of view on the issues that concern society.

The objective is to further open the doors of the institution to citizens, through dialogue and conversation with them. It is planned that at least one meeting per month will be organized.

The next installment will be entitled 'This is how the changes in the Labor Reform affect you'. It will be held on March 2 and, on this occasion, it will feature a CEOE leader, as well as several experts from the university.
