Lovers of culture and knowledge once again have an appointment at the URJC. The XXIII Edition of the Rey Juan Carlos University Summer Courses is celebrated.

This year will feature the presence of the writer and professor of English Philology, María Dueñas, who will hold the inaugural conference on June 27 at 19:30 p.m. in the assembly hall of the Faculty of Legal and Social Sciences on campus. of Vicalvaro.

In each edition, the opening ceremony has featured relevant figures from the world of letters and politics, and in this edition we will have the author of one of the best-selling novels in Spanish literature in recent years, 'El tiempo entre Costuras ', which has been translated into more than 30 languages.

In addition, it has been converted into a television series by the Antena 3 network. In the same way, María Dueñas has other highly successful literary works such as Misión Olvido (2012), La Templanza (2015), Las hijas del Capitán (2018) and Sira (2021).

The novelist has also been awarded the City of Cartagena Prize for Historical Novel in 2010 and in 2011 she won the Culture Prize for the Community of Madrid, in the Literature category.

In this edition, the URJC Summer Courses will once again be 100% face-to-face and, as always, they will be free, to continue supporting student training. They will cover all areas of knowledge from a current perspective, dealing with aspects such as politics, culture and science, among others.
