Analyze the current panorama of civil liability, the state of objective imputation and discuss its possible future within the legal framework. In order to address all these issues, the congress "New perspectives in civil liability. Critical review of objective imputation" was born. This event, organized by the URJC civil liability research group, together with the Master's Degree in Extracontractual Civil Liability, will take place on June 2 and 3.
The conference will be taught both in person (at the Madrid-Vicálvaro campus) and remotely through the Microsoft Teams platform. Javier Ramos López, the rector of the Rey Juan Carlos University, will open the conference, together with the director of the event, professor of civil law Pilar Álvarez Olalla.
Those students who attend in person may opt for the recognition of 0,75 credits of free configuration, as well as the calculation of hours for those students who are pursuing a doctorate. The registration form to attend the congress is at the following link.
The congress was born with the purpose of presenting the results of the research project carried out by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (MCIU) and the State Research Agency (AEI). It deals with the usefulness, or its absence, of the "objective imputation criteria", a matter of high interest in civil law. Among other topics, the current scenario of civil liability, the impact it has on specific sectors and the state of the issue in other countries, such as France and Italy, will be discussed. The congress will also end with the presentation of the book by Thomson Reuters-Aranzadi New perspectives on civil liability. Critical review of objective imputation.
The conference will be attended by different professionals and professors specialized in civil law. Among them are the honorary president of the Spanish Association of Lawyers, Mariano Medina; the professor of private law at the University of Trieste, Angelo Venchiarutti; and the Magistrate of the 1st Chamber of the Supreme Court, José Luis Seoane Spiegelberg. Professors from various Spanish universities, such as the Rey Juan Carlos University, the University of La Coruña, the University of Castilla-La-Mancha, the Autonomous University of Madrid and the University of Alcalá de Henares, will also take part in the presentations, colloquiums and round tables.
