The URJC celebrates the first edition of the GameJam GameScholars at the Madrid-Quintana headquarters, an event that brings the world of video games closer to the student community

From September 30 to October 28, a group of students from the Rey Juan Carlos University belonging to the Degree in Video Game Design and Development have organized a Gamejam, an event related to the video game industry. Teams of a maximum of 6 participants must create a video game over the course of a month, after which a specialized jury will decide which is the winning group. 

The event, which will feature talks led by university professors, aims to encourage learning about the processes involved in creating a video game, as well as the camaraderie and creativity of the participants.

The first talk will deal with the video game industry and will take place on October 14. Professors from the university will participate in it and it can be followed both in person and remotely through the Twitch channel @GameScholars.

So far, the professionals in the sector who have been confirmed are: Mercedes Rodrigo, professor of the Degree in Design and Development of Video Games at URJC and Concept Artist at Tequilla Works, Daniel Burón, professor of the Degree in Design and Development of Video Games at URJC and researcher in the Consolidated Research Group on Facial Recognition and Artificial Vision of the URJC, Jorge Félix López, professor of the Degree in Video Game Design and Development at the Juan Carlos University and researcher in the High Performance Simulation and Visualization Research Group Multimodal of the URJC, María Zapata Cáceres, professor of the Degree in Design and Development of Videogames of the Juan Carlos University and researcher in the Laboratory of Information Technologies in Education of the URJC and Javier Gárgoles Lucas, alumnus of the Rey Juan University Carlos and Associate Environment Artist at Digital Legends.

All the days will be held through Twitch on September 30, 14, and October 28 from 17:30 p.m. to 20:30 p.m.
