Today and tomorrow, the Aranjuez campus will be the meeting point for a large number of academic experts on the Court, the palaces and the history of cities. They will analyze the relationships of these elements with power International Congress 'From the Palace to the City. Representation of power and sociability'.
The symposium will serve to throw different points of view on issues such as the historiographical study of the influence of the Court in European capitals, the symbolism of palaces and chalets in reigns such as those of Fernando VI and Isabel II or the importance of court festivals in Aranjuez during the s. XVII, among many other topics.
For this, Spanish experts and experts from other countries have been brought together from different universities in Spain such as URJC, UNED, UCM, UAM, UVA and UAH.
The congress is directed by the professor of Modern History, Félix Labrador and Magdalena Merlos Romero, municipal archivist of the Aranjuez City Council.
The realization of this activity is possible thanks to the support of the Rey Juan Carlos University, the City Council of Aranceta and the European Social Fund.
