The Rey Juan Carlos University celebrated its anniversary yesterday with hundreds of young people and various groups that put on the soundtrack for Thursday afternoon.

The 25th anniversary of the URJC was marked by time and good music. Throughout the afternoon, songs and interviews were interspersed in a program broadcast live by Radio 3, from the Móstoles Campus.

The Tremenda Jauría group was in charge of starting the musical event and making people start dancing, to the rhythm of their cumbia-reggaetón. After his performance, the Rector of the URJC, Javier Ramos, took the stage to comment on the situation of the University and its current objectives. Specifically, he gave importance to the URJC's relations with Ibero-America and stated that "knowledge knows no borders".

Next, Sila Lúa returned to music and presented her project as a singer. The artist, who performs solo, presented her "new pop" style and ended with a version of 'Eres para mí', by Julieta Venegas.

The next guests to the Radio3 micros were three members of the University's women's futsal team. The reason; be champions at the European University Games, held in Poland last July.

After the sports break, the Morreo duo was chosen to continue with the music. Making way for the sun through the clouds, their songs made the audience jump and the party began to get more and more animated.

At the end of their performance, the Radio3 team gave way to the Festival Organizers Committee, made up of various members of the URJC; Guillermo Calleja, Professor Emeritus of Chemistry; Carmen Caffarel, professor of Communication and Enrique Otero, honorary rector of the URJC and member of the organizing committee of the 25th anniversary (professor and professor emeritus in the area of ​​Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering). Caffarel, for his part, highlighted the importance of "celebrating the path traveled, but thinking about the future".

As night fell and despite the cold, it was Shego's turn, who got people dancing again and welcomed new attendees. When the music stopped, the graduate students Javier Gómez and Raquel de la Coba took the microphone to talk about their work experience after leaving the university. Javier Gómez had the opportunity to work as a screenwriter at Casa de Papel and Raquel de la Coba established herself as an artist with a powerful feminist message.

With Arde Bogotá came the rain, which had been enduring all afternoon, but the audience did not stop dancing and singing. The group, from Cartagena, was one of the most acclaimed by the attendees and their farewell was not short.

Next, professors Nuria Máximo, Raquel Montes, Adrián Escudero and César Cáceres, took the stage to recall the importance of research within universities. These four professors are mainly dedicated to research areas and took the opportunity to share some of their projects.

It was the turn of one of the most anticipated of the night, Varry Brava, who had everyone dancing and singing. The group, which was the oldest of all, did not disappoint in their performance.

After a brief intervention by representatives of the URJC Associations, Delaporte returned with the music to put the finishing touch to the concerts. 

The night continued with the music of the Radio3 DJs, although at the end of the concerts a large part of the public left the campus. However, there were still hundreds of young people who continued to enjoy this birthday party until the University closed its doors.
