Since September 1, the URJC has been in charge of managing the Vallecas business incubator, belonging to the Madrid City Council. In this new stage as manager, the URJC has decided to give new impetus to this entrepreneurship center in the southeast of the capital, which has a dozen hosted companies.

As the main novelty of this new stage, the incubator has launched an acceleration program, which will have 2 calls a year and 10 projects selected by call will participate. The first begins in the middle of this month of October.

For Ana Asensio, responsible for the management of the Vallecano nursery, “it is an important challenge to have the management again to be able to implement this new program in which we combine the concepts of nursery and accelerator. We incorporate a lot of specialized personnel and the objective is to place the Vallecas nursery at the top of the rankings. In addition, we want to build synergies between the different economic actors and other entities in the Madrid entrepreneurial ecosystem”.

As Ana Asensio explains, “services are expanding a lot. Together with the advisory model that we maintain, we propose an advanced model that consists of supporting innovative companies with mentors”.

In this sense, the nursery is accrediting a large number of profiles of this type with the aim of building a large network.

Another of the big bets of this new stage is going to be internationalization, “we are going to launch an advanced program to help companies enter the global market. For this, we will have a technician specialized in international trade at the helm,” says Ana Asensio.

The other leg of this new stage of management is training with an initiative that begins on October 5 and to which interested people can register through the 'Madrid Emprende' website.

On the other hand, the center plans to increase the frequency and number of networking events and coffee breaks.

Thus, the Vallecas nursery joins those of Moratalaz and Móstoles in what constitutes a clear commitment by the URJC to support entrepreneurship and innovation in the Community of Madrid.
