Today, Thursday, October 27, the IV Congress on Education and Pornography is being held, organized by the high-performance research group on Foundations of Education and Educational Social Responsibility of the URJC. The group, written in the acronym FERSE, is headed by Luis Manuel Martínez, professor of Theory and History of Education.

The event will take place in the Assembly Hall of the Library of the Madrid campus and will cover the entire day, from 09:00 to 20:00. For attending students who attend the congress, 0,55 ECTS will be recognized.

This fourth edition of the Congress on Education and Pornography intends to be a continuation of its previous editions, with the aim of constituting a space for reflection and debate on the role of the pornographic industry. In addition, the influence of sexualized content that is exposed on screens and television programming will be deepened.

Thus, with the title 'Fiction, screens and vulnerable audiences', this event aims to delve into the problems generated by the consumption of pornography and justify the need to establish quality sex education. This will have to give tools to face this first contact with sex, especially during the adolescent stage.

The event, which will consist of several round tables and conferences, contemplates an interdisciplinary approach with the presence of professionals and researchers from the fields of Communication, Education, Sociology and Psychology, among others.

In this way, professors from the International University of La Rioja, the Complutense University of Madrid, the CEU San Pablo University and the URJC itself will address the consequences of the use of pornography in the younger population and will propose awareness-raising measures to generate change in society.

In addition, the role of different initiatives and awareness campaigns will be highlighted, such as the 'Give a return' Association or the FAD Youth Foundation, to explain their social and educational work among the most vulnerable audiences.

In short, the celebration of this annual Congress offers a global vision to awaken the critical spirit towards the pornification of society in the eyes of the younger generations.
