The seventh edition of this Congress, which will be held from January 18 to 20, will be open to students and researchers who are starting their career, regardless of whether they are affiliated with the 'Human Brain Project' (HBP) or not.

The human brain is a highly complex system that can be understood by combining knowledge and practices from multiple scientific fields. The '7th HBP Student Conference on Interdisciplinary Brain Research' provides an open forum for the exchange of new ideas between researchers working in various sciences relevant to the Human Brain Project (HBP). This Congress is an activity framed within one of the four great FLAGSHIP projects that are the flag of the European Union and whose activities are followed throughout the world, having great recognition and repercussions throughout the globe. This year, the Rey Juan Carlos University, through the Office of the Vice President for Research, Innovation and Transfer, will host and give its support to the organization of the event, since the university is an associate member of EBRAINS.

The conference will welcome a total of 120 participants including international students and renowned speakers in the field of brain research. All of them will be able to learn about the Human Brain Project's data-driven approach to brain research, and will also have the opportunity to use the EBRAINS platform to better understand it. The conference offers ample space for scientific dialogue through a variety of discussion sessions, lectures, workshops and hands-on training sessions, and social events. It is an activity aimed mainly at the student community interested in this field "so that they know the projects and can join them if they believe that from their research they can contribute some kind of contribution", as explained by the Vice Rector for Innovation, Transfer and Relations with Companies Fernando Enrique García Muiña.

The XNUMXth HBP Student Conference on Interdisciplinary Brain Research invites novice researchers to describe their innovative work in all disciplines addressed in the HBP. These contributions may emphasize theoretical or empirical work related to a broad spectrum of fields including, but not limited to, neuroscience, computer science, robotics, medicine, psychology, cognitive science, or philosophy. From the organization, the motivation is strengthened so that collaborations are created in the community by presenting new and relevant problems, concepts and ideas, even if the work is in an early stage of development.

"From the university we support that the URJC forms part of a very valuable framework for the development of research and innovation in the field of the human brain. We hope to energize the ecosystem of the network itself, that the researchers, their projects are known, and that they are promoted the relations between the participating partners" explains Fernando Enrique García Muiña. "In addition, this Conference will also have, as the last activity, a visit to Aranjuez, in order to make international researchers aware of the cultural and social wealth of our country" concludes the vice chancellor.
