The Rey Juan Carlos University and the Círculo de Bellas Artes have once again signed the collaboration agreement in which they work together to promote research and innovation in the field of humanities.

Nora Fernandez Fernandez

This morning, the director of the Círculo de Bellas Artes (CBA), Valerio Rocco, and the rector of the Rey Juan Carlos University, Javier Ramos, have ratified the collaboration agreement whereby both entities work together. The objective of this agreement, signed in 2021, is to promote innovation and the social impact of research in the field of art and humanities.

Based on the agreement, signed for the first time in 2021, different events were held last year in which University research groups participated, related to cultural, artistic and humanistic thematic lines.

The reason for the signing, as confirmed by the Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation and Transfer, Fernando García Muiña, "is to consolidate the relationships we already have and develop new spaces for collaboration. Until now, we have been collaborating with very good results in the Círculo en R+D+C forums. They are held annually and several researchers from our University participate.

R+D+C Forum

The R+D+C Forums of the Círculo de Bellas Artes are a meeting point between research in the Arts and Humanities and different economic and social agents, in order to maximize innovation and the social impact of these disciplines. In general, these events deal with the possibility that the arts and humanities have a concrete impact on society, helping to generate more egalitarian, free and fair relationships.

The name R+D+C stands for Innovation, Development and Transfer and the 'C' alludes to the relationship that innovation has with the artistic-humanistic field, which materializes in culture, criticism, citizenship, social commitment, creativity...

The last Forum was held on May 4, 2022 and was attended by Mª Cristina Hermida del Llano, professor of Philosophy of Law at the URJC, and coordinator of the Research Group on Immigration and Management of Cultural Diversity of the same university.
