The objective of the 'Excellence Awards for the Best TFG in RRLL and RRHH' from the Justicia Social Foundation is to publicize the profession of the Social Graduate, and they award eight scholarships ranging from 100 to 800 euros, free membership for one year in the entity and different activities to disseminate the work of the awarded students.

The student Nerea Fernández, whose TFG has been directed by the Professor of Labor Law María Luisa Molero Marañón, has managed to be one of the finalists with a TFG that addressed the right to be able to adapt the working day to the family situation of each individual. “I wanted to focus on the right of adaptation, because personally, I consider that it is the nuclear measure of reconciliation. In the work, a brief tour of its normative evolution is made, from the first drafting of the law in 2007, to the current drafting today, going through the 2 reforms it has undergone. Likewise, I analyze the last modification to which this right was subjected, as a result of the health crisis that was experienced worldwide, caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, and that, although it was very beneficial, unfortunately it was temporary, ending in June 2022” explains the young woman.

“My only objective was to pass the TFG. I never thought I could get such a good grade. Nor had I ever thought of dedicating myself to further research on the subject, although as I went deeper into this right, I liked it more and more and, just as I reflected in my work, I came to the conclusion that, despite the fact that we have advanced quite a lot in terms of equality and reconciliation, there is still a long way to go,” says Fernández.

“When I received the news, I was satisfied to see my effort recognized, not only by members of the university, but also by an institution outside it. This type of recognition motivates you to continue and you feel that, in addition to yourself, there are more people who are appreciating the time and effort you have put into it. But I have to say, I couldn't have done such a good job on my own. The tutors also have a very important job, and mine, María Luisa, was key in guiding me at work, in addition to recommending many resources that were useful to understand what the right of adaptation consisted of and why it is essential to achieve a conciliation effective” ends by saying the student.

The prizes will be handed out soon in an act in which the eight winners will attend. Apart from a diploma, the winners will see their TFG reflected in a book on paper, made up of a brief summary of each of the winning works.
