For two days, the different data protection delegates from Spanish universities will meet at the 'II Conference of Data Protection Delegates from Spanish Universities' to advise and supervise compliance with the 'General Data Protection Regulation of the Union Union' on the Aranjuez campus. In this way, attendees will be able to share ideas and ways of acting related to digital security issues. "In this sense, these conferences are considered as a continuation of the 'First Conference on DPDs' held at the University of Seville in 2019" they explain from the organization.

"This type of activity is really important, since we need to be provided with the necessary measures to prevent cyberattacks from stealing data, which could lead to personal damage," explains Leonor Rams, event organizer and Data Protection Officer at the URJC. “We must work together with those responsible for information security, with ICT personnel and above all with the legal field to prevent computer attacks that may occur” says Rams.

“We have chosen people who can provide us with different views on how universities carry out procedures that are not common to other institutions. To do this, we will hold round tables and workshops attended by various researchers to discuss these techniques of action "adds the delegate.

The rector of the Rey Juan Carlos University, Javier Ramos, also attended the inauguration of this activity, who took the opportunity to thank all the participants for their presence and recall the importance "of establishing the necessary mechanisms to protect the university community of the threats that mismanagement of this data could generate" he qualified. "The figure of data protection delegates in universities has become essential, not only due to a legal obligation, but also because it is essential to have your advice," Ramos ended by saying.
