The Rey Juan Carlos University is one of the sponsors of this contest organized by the Madrid City Council that wants to encourage female entrepreneurship.

The call for the XIII Emprendedoras Award is already underway. The Rey Juan Carlos University, through its entrepreneurship support services, collaborates by contributing to the award several mentoring sessions on business start-ups for the first, second and third place winners.

In addition, explains Francisco Blanco, professor of Applied Economics and responsible for entrepreneurship at the URJC, "we also collaborate as part of the jury."

To participate in the award, the aspiring projects, among other requirements, must be SMEs, be participated in by more than 50% by women and have an "original creative, disruptive and innovative business initiative", as can be read on the website of the prize launched by the Madrid City Council.

The total amount of the prize amounts to 100.000 euros, broken down as follows: first prize financially endowed with 20.000 euros; second prize, with an economic endowment of 15.000 euros and third prize with an economic endowment of 10.000 euros. In addition, 11 second prizes of 5.000 euros each will be awarded.
