The rector of the URJC, Javier Ramos, is one of the 700 university managers who attends the V International Meeting of Universia Rectors, which is held under the slogan 'University and Society' and wants to constitute "a great space for debate in which attendees will talk about the keys that will once again turn the university into a motor of progress for society and sustainable growth”. As indicated by Universia in a press release.

The President of the Government of Spain, Pedro Sánchez and the President of Banco Santander, Ana Botín, inaugurated a meeting yesterday Tuesday at the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia. They have been accompanied by the rector of the National Autonomous University of Mexico and president of the International Meeting Committee, Enrique Graue.

Among the numerous participants in the V Encuentro are names such as the father of the World Wide Web, Tim Berners-Lee, the Spanish physicist and 2006 Prince of Asturias Award winner, Ignacio Cirac, or the former United States Secretary of the Treasury, Larry Summers. .

"The Meeting aims to find answers, generate synergies and strategies around three thematic axes of special interest for many challenges of today's society in which the University can significantly influence: training throughout life, the promotion of entrepreneurship and innovation and networks and interconnection between universities, companies, governments and other institutions”, according to Universia.

The 'V International Meeting of Universia Rectors' runs until May 10.
