The meeting with the European parliamentarians and the different commissions of that body and representatives of the Public Diplomacy area of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) will take place between June 5 and 7.
The visit is part of the training process received by the students of the master's degree directed by URJC professors Antonio Rubio and Manuel Gértrudix, and is aimed at learning fundamental aspects of these two organizations and gathering information about the reports that they are preparing as TFM on topics such as emigration, gambling and abortion, topics of maximum current interest and journalistic interest that will later be published in the collaborating media.
Contact with these international institutions allows students to obtain excellent knowledge that complements the use of research, data verification and transparency techniques that are worked on during the course. This from the University's commitment to train professionals for a new present where, as a society, we face new challenges: the fight against misinformation and the need for public service journalism, which does not remain on the surface, which investigate and tell the reality to the public with data.
For this purpose, the University has signed a new agreement with the digital newspaper ElConfidencial.com, which will become the main collaborator of the Master's in the next edition of the Master's Degree in Permanent Training (2023/2024). This will make it possible to offer more financial aid to students and incorporate new content into the academic/professional study program, such as the application of Artificial Intelligence in journalistic processes.
