The URJC, with the best results of the EIR 2023

The Rey Juan Carlos University has been the only university in which more than 50% of its students have passed the strong group, obtaining the best results in the test.

According to the report published by the Ministry of Health on the distribution by universities and groups with reference in the Internal Resident Nurse (EIR) test this year, 56,1% of URJC students belong to the strong group of those presented to the proof.

Thus, the URJC is located this year at the top of the list of best results in the test, while last year it was in tenth place.

As pointed out by the dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Carlos Goicoechea, "this is a source of pride" and, above all, "the culmination of a long work that we have been doing since we began the nursing degree." “We are convinced that we train very good male and female nurses and that we add significant value to society and to hospitals”, adds Goicoechea.

In fact, the dean has indicated that "they are already requesting the work of some students, since there is a significant need for nursing personnel." What Goicoechea also wanted to highlight is that these results "are objective proof of the quality of our training that puts you on the map compared to other universities, with which you compete on equal terms."

The coordinator of the Nursing degree, Ángel Lizcano Álvarez, wanted to highlight that this "is the first time that we are at the top of the EIR list", although "a couple of years before, the URJC was in the top five". In addition to the good general results, "one of our students, the first of last year's promotion, has been number 3 in the entire EIR", he added. Similarly, the teacher has indicated that this nurse "has chosen the Family and Community specialty, of which I am a teacher, with which the joy is triple."

Another thing that the Nursing coordinator has highlighted is that "both in the MIR and PIR exams, there is a large percentage of students who are from the same year or from last year, which are the short-term results." However, specifically the EIR, "it is not so since, since they finish the race, many nurses and nurses are already working since they graduate", Lizcano has specified.

This year, the EIR places offered were 1.961 and the number of students who took the exam amounted to 7.890 nurses. Later, 6.026 took the exam and 5.524 passed the cut-off mark, which means that 24,8% of those admitted to the exam were awarded a place.
