The URJC professor of Business Economics has been elected to lead a new board of directors of the European Academy of Business Management and Economics (AEDEM). Other URJC teachers are part of the new direction.

For the URJC teacher, this appointment is “an achievement. I am very happy to have achieved it”.

The Academy focuses mainly on research and dissemination work through the holding of national and international conferences. In this sense, the main lines of the mandate of the URJC professor will be "the consolidation of the scientific journals that we edit." There are three publications, one of them is in the academic top of the Business Economics area, 'European Research on Management and Business Economics'. Other, 'European Journal of Management & Business Economics', is very well positioned and, the third, 'Journal of Management and Business Education' dedicated to the world of education in the business world, is beginning to make a name for itself in academia.

On the other hand, the Academy plans to hold an international congress next September in the Moroccan city of Tangier. “This is the first AEDEM congress in Africa”, points out Camilo Prado, who adds that “we are going to do it in collaboration with the Tangier International Tourism Institute and the Abdelmalek Esaadi University, in Tetouan”. The theme of this Congress will be: 'Management in emerging markets. Africa's challenges in a global business world'.

Another congress also took place recently, in Vigo. In this case, number 37 nationwide. “It was a resounding success”, explains Camilo Prado, “we had more than 200 presentations and more than 250 congressmen”. In addition, 11 research prizes were awarded and it was inaugurated by the president of the Xunta de Galicia, Alfonso Rueda Valenzuela. In this case, the theme revolved around 'Resilience and Sustainability of the new business reality'.

The new board of directors of AEDEM, in addition to having Camilo Prado as president, has the professor of Business Economics, Alicia Blanco, as vice-president and the also professor of the area Francisco Díez Martín, as editor of the magazine, 'Journal of Management and Business Education'. The connection of the Rey Juan Carlos University with the Academy is strong, since "many of our professors participate actively with AEDEM", indicates the professor.
