The first edition of this event will focus on the audiovisual world of cinema and television. However, in the future it could host other professional fields such as journalism, advertising or corporate communication.
The conference has been organized by audiovisual communication professors, Laura Fernández Ramírez and Juan Martín Quevedo in order to facilitate the job placement of graduated students and offer a clear vision of the audiovisual panorama. Along these same lines, the co-director states that, “we want the students to listen to professionals with a lot of experience in the audiovisual sector and who can understand what the personal and work process of each of the speakers was like.”
New opportunities
The management of the symposium has tried to provide listeners with quality talks, which is why there has been a group of young speakers who are currently working in different companies and production companies of international recognition. The speakers will base their interventions on explaining how a project arises, how it should be advertised and, finally, how to obtain financing.
Currently, young students express a pessimistic view about their entry into the world of work. A study published by newtral reveals that the youth unemployment rate in Spain stands at 28%.
Attendance at the event, which will count with ECTS credits, is managed through a registration form and as Laura Fernández has expressed: “A great reception is expected; on Monday, October 9, we already had 227 registered.
