The meeting took place at 9:30 in the morning, at the main entrance of the rectorate building, subsequently, the members of both commissions accessed the building's meeting room. At that time, the Chinese and Spanish delegates watched an explanatory video about the Rey Juan Carlos University. Once the video was finished, the representative of the Chinese commission classified the URJC as a “young” and “futuristic” university, and also opened the doors to possible cooperation in the future.
The presentation concluded with the exchange of several institutional details by the representatives of both delegations.
The second part of the visit to the University consisted of a meeting between the delegation of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and the professors of the China-Spain research group. At this meeting, both groups debated international relations between Spain and China and praised each other's research work.
The Spanish delegation, in charge of receiving the delegation from the Asian country, was made up of the rector of the URJC, the vice-rector for International Relations, María Luisa Humanes, and experts in the Asian world such as Professor Raúl Ramírez Ruiz, director of the Research Group China-Spain or Zhe Lin, director of the China Office of the Rey Juan Carlos University.
The Chinese delegation has been headed by Xie Fuzhan, and its members include figures such as Liao Fan Deputy Director General of the International Cooperation Office or Tang Lei, director of the China Center for International Studies.
