This award is created in order to promote quality research on Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) both nationally and internationally. An award organized by the Spanish Association of Accounting and Business Administration (AECA) and sponsored and promoted by the College of Registrars of Spain.
In this second edition the number of works presented has been exceeded and there was international participation. Investigations have been received from Spain, Colombia, Paraguay, Brazil, Ecuador, Argentina and the United States. The project chosen as the winner is signed by three professors from the URJC and one from the Complutense University of Madrid. On behalf of the URJC, the authors are Diana Benito, Luis Ángel Guerras and José Ángel Zúñiga, professors belonging to the area of Business Organization
Diana Benito herself declares that “receiving outstanding recognition in your area of knowledge is always a satisfaction, but, on this occasion, both the prestige of the organizations that endorse the award and that of the professor after whom it is named (Juan Antonio Maroto Acín ), they make it a real privilege for us,” explains the teacher.
Regarding the project, it presents an analysis that reveals different combinations of two corporate strategies: product and geographic diversification, which can improve the results of SMEs both in periods of economic growth and crisis. “This work has a robust scientific development, but always with a real application approach for SMEs. We believe that it has been valued that it is a scientific study that can help real decision-making in our SMEs” adds Diana Benito.
The award ceremony took place this past Monday, October 30, at the Headquarters of the College of Registrars, and the event was chaired by Mª Emilia Adán, dean of the College of Registrars, Raúl Blanco, president of Renfe, and Leandro Cañibano, president of the AECA.
