The objective of the meeting was twofold: first, to explore bilateral collaborations, both in research and the mobility of students and staff from both institutions, and second, to determine the work plan within EULiST.
For the first time, within the framework of the university alliance, representatives of the Vice-Rector's Office for Research, Innovation and Transfer, the Higher Technical School of Computer Engineering (ETSII), the School of Engineering of Fuenlabrada ( EIF) and the School of Experimental Sciences and Technology.
As María Luisa Humanes, vice-rector for International Relations, who led the URJC delegation on the visit to the Paris headquarters of the Institut Mines-Télecom (IMT), points out, “the possibility has been considered that the PDI of the URJC schools carry out more specific visits and that IMT teachers and researchers can also visit our campuses.”
In the general area, the meeting has also served to “open avenues of collaboration with a university (IMT) with which until now there was little relationship,” indicates the vice-rector.
Work within EULiST
The meeting between the two delegations has also served to work on various issues within the framework of the EULiST alliance. The URJC and the IMT lead the 'Outreach, Engagement and Transfer' working group. In this case, María Luisa Humanes indicates, “special work was done on strategies for knowledge transfer and creation of incubators, and external communication.”
One more step in the search for synergies within EULiST, in this case strengthening ties with a University with which there had been almost no contact in the past. The next bilateral meeting will take place at the end of January. In this case the URJC will act as host for the delegation from the Swedish Jönköping University.
