The FlixOlé-URJC Chair presents the second edition of the 'Spanish Film Research Awards'

The event was held at the Madrid Film Academy, where awards were given to the best academic projects related to the world of cinematography.

The awards ceremony that took place today was attended by Enrique Cerezo, founder of FlixOlé; Sophie de Mac Mahon, CEO of FlixOlé; Javier Ramos, rector of the URJC; or Gerard Sánchez, director of the RTVE program 'Días de Cines', among other personalities.

The latter began the ceremony, thanking the attendees and claiming the quality of Spanish films, followed by a few words from Mario Rajas, coordinator of the awards and director of the Flix Olé-URJC Chair, declaring that these awards “drive us to do many activities at the URJC and the rest of the schools.”

In the first part of the gala, the academic awards were presented to the winners in the categories of Best Final Degree Thesis, Best Final Master's Thesis, Best Doctoral Thesis and Best Scientific Article. In the second part of the event, special awards were presented in the categories of Best Specialized Article, Best Book, Best Collective Book, Best Emerging Media, Best Activity, Best Outreach Program, and Best Professional Career, received by the journalist Paula Ponga.

It is worth highlighting the personal tribute made by Fernando Méndez-Leite, president of the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences, to Emilio Gutiérrez, winner of the special award for Best Book, highlighting his career and achievements.

Javier Ramos, rector of the URJC, has presented the special Best Activity award, highlighting the work of the 'FlixOlé Chair and inviting us to reflect on the current situation of universities with respect to Spanish cinema. The award was received by Valeria Camporesi, director of the Spanish Film Library, for the creation of Spanish Cinema Day, celebrated on October 6.

For his part, the founder of FlixOlé, Enrique Cerezo, has presented the latest award, the award for Best Popular Program, given to RTVE for the program 'Spanish Version'. He has also taken the opportunity to thank the efforts of the entire awards organization, stating that "these awards are a trip to somewhere, so that the students who will pick up the generational handover of the industry continue to promote cinematographic heritage."
