This morning, the rector of the URJC received more than 40 students who will participate in 17 disciplines in the Spanish University Championships that will be held, at the end of April, in different universities throughout the country.

Ramos has highlighted the efforts of young people who combine studies and sports, “what you do is much more important than you imagine. The world has always changed, but today it does so much faster and it is thanks to people like you that the world improves." The rector has highlighted the importance of studying and knowing how to work as a team in a world where many mechanical jobs are going to disappear with Artificial Intelligence, “having the values that you acquire through study and sport will allow you not to be affected by this impact of AI, because you will be the one who designs these new jobs and you are also an example,” Ramos indicated.

The student athletes have taken advantage of the opportunity to ask for more resources in this area and an improvement in facilities.

In this sense, Javier Ramos has responded that, within the deadlines allowed by public institutions, "there is a will and it is proposed that there be a sports center on each campus."

For his part, Alexander Gil-Arias, deputy vice-rector for Sports, has indicated that "in the short term, reforms are being carried out so that next year we can have multipurpose facilities for physical training on the Móstoles campus."

The deputy vice-rector has also indicated that he feels “very proud of these students who perfectly represent the motto #YoSoyURJC”.

All the luck to the URJC student athletes who will represent the university and its values in the 2024 Spanish University Championships.
