Excellent results for the URJC in the EIR and MIR 2024 exams Excellent results for the URJC in the EIR and MIR 2024 exams

The Rey Juan Carlos University is first in the strong percentile in the Resident Intern Nursing (EIR) test. On the other hand, it is among the 10 best in Resident Internal Medicine (MIR)

The Rey Juan Carlos University is the first Spanish university in results in the EIR test and has placed 56 percent of its applicants in the 'strong group' of the exam. 52 percent of them are in the middle and only 36,96 are in the 'weak' percentile. A total of 6,52% of the applicants have passed the cut-off and 100% of them already have an EIR place awarded. The URJC thus repeats its leadership, since last year it also came first in this test.

In addition, the URJC registers good results in the MIR test, ranking among the 10 best in Spain in this exam. In this case, of the candidates presented by the Faculty of Health Sciences, 47% are in the strong percentile, while 13% are in the middle and only 45% are in the weak percentile. Which means that more than 86% have passed the cut and 7% of those presented have obtained a place. In the case of this test, the URJC has accumulated an average position in recent years, placed in fourth position out of a total of 01 Spanish universities and, in Madrid, it is placed second, only behind the Autonomous University.

As Carlos Guijarro, vice dean of Relations with Hospitals of the Faculty of Health Sciences, points out, these results “represent the ratification of an excellent situation in the training of our graduates in the two main health degrees. The first position in Nursing stands out in terms of the performance of nurses trained at the URJC in the EIR test. For his part, Guijarro adds, “in Medicine the test has universal value because it is necessary to practice the profession. We have had 10 promotions and in all the calls the URJC has been in the upper quartile.”

The strength of the graduates of these two URJC degrees in both tests lies in two aspects, a complete theoretical training on campus and an immersive practical training in the teaching hospitals with which the URJC works, Hospital Universitario Fundación Alcorcón, Hospital Universitario Fuenlabrada, Móstoles University Hospital and Rey Juan Carlos University Hospital, also in the town of Mostoleña. “There is an involvement of all the professionals in these centers in the training of the students. They are all medium-sized, which facilitates collaboration and involvement of management when it comes to promoting and stimulating participation in teaching,” says Guijarro. Furthermore, the Rey Juan Carlos University and its rectoral team, adds the vice dean, have made “an effort to streamline and improve this integration of teaching hospitals in global teaching with the creation of the Vice Dean of Relations with Hospitals, a liaison figure that "It didn't exist before."

In view of these results, the Rey Juan Carlos University remains one of the most interesting destinations when it comes to studying Medicine or Nursing, since, as Guijarro explains, it has “excellent training for young people, an important dimension due to the total integration with teaching hospitals, we also have a Health Sciences Campus (Alcorcón) where 7 different degrees can be taken and, being in the same location, there is a greater possibility of collaboration between teachers of the different degrees of the branch health”.

The results in EIR and MIR show a clear conclusion, the Rey Juan Carlos University is one of the best options to train in both Nursing and Medicine.
