For yet another year, the Community of Madrid has incorporated the public University of Rey Juan Carlos into the Interuniversity Program for Seniors, which has the collaboration of the public universities of Alcalá and Carlos III. This program is aimed at people residing in the region who are over 55 years old and have completed the entire "Universidad de Mayores" program at any of the public universities in Madrid.
For José Manuel Azcona, director of the URJC university for seniors, “every year is a challenge because this offer forces us to offer hot topics, related to the reality in which we live and to be connected to topics of social interest.” The offer prepared for the first half of 2024 maintains its commitment to facilitating participants' contact with very different knowledge.
To access the program, preference will be given to people aged 55 or over who have completed the entire "senior university" program or comparable studies at one of the public universities in Madrid. If all the places are not filled, applicants who are enrolled in said program in the 2023/2024 academic year will be admitted.
The incorporation of the URJC into the Interuniversity Program for Seniors of the Community of Madrid in 2024 has been formalized through a collaboration agreement signed on May 8 between the Ministry of Family, Youth and Social Policy and the URJC.
