URJC seniors graduate

The event was held in the Rectorate assembly hall and was chaired by the rector of the URJC, Javier Ramos.

The central moment was the delivery of the scholarship and diploma to a hundred new graduates after having successfully completed the Senior University program.

In addition, the director of the University of Seniors, José Manuel Azcona, has reviewed all the activities and conferences carried out during the course and has recognized and thanked the work and involvement of the entire team: PDI and PTGAS

The event has also served to pay tribute to Josefa Benito Zamora, a worker at the Universidad de Mayores, who is retiring this year.

Representatives of students from the two cycles of the Senior University participated in the event: Petra Del Moral Jiménez and María del Carmen Castellanos Garrido. Likewise, professors David Ortega and Jorge Latorre took the floor. The teachers were very satisfied with the honor of having been able to share moments with the students and with the mutual learning. 

The choir of the University of Mayors also participated, performing the traditional works 'Veni Creator' and Gaudeamos Igitur', managing to move the audience present.

The event was attended by the vice-rector of Campus Community, Culture and Sports, Mercedes del Hoyo, the general secretary, Lourdes Meléndez, the director of the University of Seniors, José Manuel Azcona and also professor David Ortega. In addition, the director of the Student and Social Projection Area, Maribel Blázquez, and the General Manager of the University, Vicente Calvo, attended.

The success of the event would not have been possible without the collaboration of the various departments of the URJC, Protocol, the Rector's Secretariat, General Affairs, staff of the Vice-Rector's Office for Campus Community and the Communication Department.
