Taught remotely, the training has a teaching team that includes professors, full professors and specialists in Business Analytics and Big Data.

Newsroom

El Master's Degree in Decision Systems Engineering from URJC offers content based on the growing importance of data analysis and its application in business processes and organizations of all kinds, such as decision-making based on data and empirical evidence. Data Science, 'big data', 'data mining' or 'machine learning' have become concepts of daily use in multiple sectors. This course presents an accessible introduction to the models, algorithms, and technologies that allow the integration of modern methods for data analysis. In this line, the specialty presents a novel mix of Computer Technology and Mathematics.

Study of time series

Within Advanced Data Analysis, one of the points that is dealt with in great detail would be the prediction and classification of time series, since it is one of the most interesting areas in which the new computational models can be applied. A time series is nothing more than a series of observations of a phenomenon taken over time. Examples of time series exist in all areas of knowledge, the most relevant being those related to economics, meteorology, commerce, engineering and social sciences.

The study of time series encompasses a set of techniques that allow extracting all the regularities that are observed in past behavior and thus be able to have "mechanisms" to predict their values in the future. The forecast and classification of time series is an important area of machine learning ('machine learning' or 'data mining'), techniques and procedures also need to be developed within the field of 'big data'.

Automatic learning techniques ('machine learning') are part of the decision support tools most in vogue today, although they have their origin in the middle of the XNUMXth century. These techniques are in fashion thanks to the growing computational capacity of systems, since they allow classification and prediction algorithms to be trained with very high success rates. Its good behavior is due in part to its ability to train and learn from large data sets. In fact, today, the field of Data Science includes machine learning as one of its core disciplines. In this master's degree, machine learning is treated from an applied perspective based on practical cases, many of them based on real data.

Reputation, teaching quality and entry profile

In 2009, this master's degree received the quality mention from the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation in Spain and gives access to the Doctorate Program in Information and Communication Technologies. The teaching staff includes professors, full professors and specialists in 'business analytics' and 'big data'. The Master is taught exclusively in the distance mode in order to facilitate access to it for all interested profiles, especially those who need to make it compatible with their current professional activities. The evaluation is carried out through the delivery of practical cases based on real situations.

The Master is aimed at Graduates, Technical Engineers, Graduates and Senior Engineers and Graduates of national and foreign universities. In particular, preference will be given to students with a degree in Computer Science or Industrial Engineering, Technical Computer Science and Management Engineering, Technical Computer Systems Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Industrial Organization, Graduates in Mathematics, Statistics, Economic Sciences, Administration and Business Management, Diplomas in Statistics and studies related to those mentioned.

All our graduates are working in prestigious business groups and organizations such as Telefónica, Vodafone, Iberia, Repsol, Grupo Santander, the Spanish Ministry of Defense, Caixa Bank, among others.
