A delegation from the URJC visits the University of L'Aquila, within the framework of EULiST

In the first session, the URJC delegation was received by the Rector of UNIVAQ, Professor Edoardo Alesse, and the Vice-Rectors for Research, Teaching and International Relations made a presentation of the University of L'Aquila, focusing on international degrees and the most outstanding lines of research.

On the second day, representatives of ESCET, the Fuenlabrada School of Engineering and the Faculty of Economics and Business Sciences visited the departments of Civil Engineering, Construction, Architecture and Environment, and Industrial Engineering, Information and Economics on the Monteculo de Roio campus, where they met with their directors. There they had the opportunity to visit their research laboratories. In the afternoon, representatives of ESCET and ETSII went to the Coppito campus, where they visited the department of Physical and Chemical Sciences and the Department of Information Engineering, Information Sciences and Mathematics. Likewise, representatives of the Faculty of Health Sciences and the Faculty of Education and Sports Sciences held meetings with the directors of the departments of Biotechnology and Applied Clinical Sciences and the department of Life Sciences, Health and Environment. Representatives of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities visited the Campus of Humanistic Studies, where they had the opportunity to participate in a class.

During these sessions, possible lines of collaboration were analysed, specifically, in the development of joint master's plans between the two universities, as well as the expansion of student mobility within the Erasmus+ programme, and collaboration in research. In this regard, the director of ESCET, Alejandro Ureña, highlights "the enormous possibilities for collaboration between research groups".

For their part, the Vice-Rector for International Relations, María Luisa Humanes, the Director of the Internationalisation Area and the Local Coordinator of EULiST held meetings with their counterparts in L'Aquila to advance the coordination of activities within the alliance.

The members of the delegation agree that it has been an extremely enriching experience and of great academic interest, in addition to highlighting the hospitality and kindness with which they were received by our Italian partners.
