Committed to promoting quality journalism and training investigative and data journalists, the URJC has contributed to the organization, communication and audiovisual coverage of the conference, which has also been broadcast via streaming on TV URJC.
The event, organised by the Press and Society Institute (IPYS), has brought together leading professionals and students around topics of great relevance to journalism and research. Thanks to the support of the Ciberimaginario Research Group and the active participation of undergraduate and master's students from the URJC, attendees have been able to enjoy a formative and enriching experience, acquiring first-hand knowledge of key figures in journalism. The students have also been a key part in the organisation of the rooms, logistics and communication of the conference, thus promoting their practical immersion in the field of high-level communication.
This collaboration has been possible thanks to the support of the Echegaray Chair of Excellence of Professor Manuel Gértrudix, funded by the Rey Juan Carlos University and the Community of Madrid. The participation of the URJC in COLPIN 2024 reaffirms its commitment to excellence and innovation in investigative journalism, offering an educational and professional platform for future generations of communicators and journalists.
The event also featured the special participation of the Vice-Rector for Campus Community, Culture and Sport, Mercedes del Hoyo, who spoke at the opening of the conference and at the research awards ceremony, held on Friday at CaixaForum, showing the institutional support of the URJC for initiatives that promote transparency, rigor and ethics in the practice of journalism.
