The Rey Juan Carlos University will simultaneously host the 'local phase' of this contest that seeks to celebrate the talent of young people who want to start working in the video game industry.

This phase will be carried out through two face-to-face tests on the Móstoles and Quintana campuses. The first will take place on Monday, November 4 and the second on Wednesday, November 6. Participants will have to, first of all, create small console programs that solve algorithmic problems. In the Wednesday session, the knowledge test will take place, with multiple choice questions, “similar to those they may face in job interviews in the sector,” explains Aarón Sújar, professor of the degree in Video Game Design and Development and responsible for the competition at the URJC together with the other teachers David María and Jorge López.

The competition will feature an industry jury made up of professionals who have participated in numerous junior programmer selection processes at some of the most important studios in our country: Electronic Arts, MercurySteam and Tequila Works.

The highest ranked people in this first phase will move on to a final phase that will take place within the Guerrilla Game Festival and the industry's own jury will decide the winners. This will take place at the facilities of Iron hack The final will take place on the afternoon of November 22nd. In this final, the contestants will have 5 minutes to present their prototype extension to the industry jury, who will then have 10 minutes for questions. At the end of this session, the jury will deliberate and make the result public. “We hope that our students will qualify and complete the entire test.”

In addition, at the Guerrilla Game Festival facilities, which will be held at Matadero Madrid, the URJC will have a stand where attendees will be able to learn in detail about both the degree in Video Game Design and Development and the Master in Computer Graphics, Games and Virtual Reality. At this stand, it will also be possible to see and try out the games developed by the winners of the latest Game Jams held at the URJC (the one from the Virtual Souls association and the one from Game Scholars).
