The seminar consists of a series of presentations by experts such as Zuzanna Schnepf-Kolacz, director of the Jewish Historical Institute of Warsaw, which will bring to the attention of students the reality of life in the Warsaw ghetto and the extermination camps.

On Thursday, November 7, the seminar 'Teaching the Holocaust in the Classroom' will be held between 10:00 a.m. and 13:00 p.m. in the Lecture Hall of the Departmental Building on the Fuenlabrada campus..

In this regard, Dr. Agnieska Witkowska-Krych, winner of the Witold Pilecki International Book Award, will speak about the figure of the pedagogue and teacher Janusz Koczak and his work protecting children during the Holocaust. Finally, Professor Jesús Saiz will discuss various Holocaust teaching projects in the classroom by primary and secondary school teachers.

The activity has been organized by Javier Rodríguez Abengózar, professor of the Contemporary History Area of ​​the University and Jesús Saiz Lorca, professor of the Moncayo school in Fuenlabrada and has the collaboration of Vice-Rectorate of Campus Community, Culture and Sports, Faculty of Education, Sports and Interdisciplinary Studies (FCEDEI) and the Department of Historical and Social Studies, Spanish Language, Literature, Moral Philosophy and Specific Didactics.

Attendees of the event will have the opportunity to hear from leading experts in the field of Jewish extermination, as well as enjoy collections and documentary archives of high historical value.

The event is aimed at students of the URJC's Primary and Early Childhood Education degrees, as well as the university's Master's Degree in Access to the Teaching Profession. On the other hand, Javier Rodríguez highlights that "there has also been significant interest among students of the History and Journalism degrees."
