The Aula Magna of Aulario III hosted this presentation, which was attended by candidates for the program, along with some family members. Javier Reyes, Disney's “Senior Recruiter of International Programs”, was in charge of the presentation of this edition.
During the nearly 50-minute session, candidates were shown all the information about the experience, which will take place between January 12 and July 10, 2025, in Southern California. Participants will obtain the “Applied Management for Hospitality and Tourism” Certificate from the University of California in a two-week course. In this program, they will receive training in tourism skills and will stay at the UCR International Village.
In addition, they will do paid internships at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. During these, the students will work in different areas of the park such as Merchandise, food and beverage service, and on the attractions themselves. The program will cost approximately $7.912 and will allow the students to obtain recognition of credits and internships. After the explanation, two young former participants talked about their experience in the program. Finally, questions from those who attended were answered. The candidates were interviewed at the end of the event.
“This program is a good opportunity for students to gain experience and personal, educational and professional development that can be useful in their lives,” explains Javier Reyes. “It is a very successful program in which more than 500 students have participated since 2010,” adds Soledad Carretero, coordinator of International Relations.
