Marta Fernández Del Moral has just started working as the new URJC student ambassador in the EU Careers programme. “It is an initiative that I was not aware of. What attracted me is that students are informed and see that there are opportunities for professional development in the European Institutions,” says this student of International Relations + Protocol, Event Organisation and Corporate Communication.
Although right now the ambassador and the team that advises her are in the phase of planning communication, mainly through Instagram, students can already contact her on the account @eucareersxurjc.
“We want to develop social networks and be a bridge between URJC students and European institutions,” says Marta Fernández, who adds that “learning about the international arena and understanding how our institutions work and why the EU is everywhere is important. It is a network that is sometimes not understood and from which all opportunities can be taken advantage of. Our goal is to bring information closer so that everyone has the same opportunities to access these international positions.”
This new edition of 'EU Careers Student Ambassadors', coordinated by the 'European Personnel Selection Office' (EPSO), is being developed with the aim of "promoting professional career opportunities in the institutions of the Union at university", according to EPSO, as well as creating a direct contact network for students from different countries and higher education centres in the European Union.
'EU Career Student Ambassadors' will run from October 2024 to September 2025. During this period, Marta Fernández del Moral will be able to participate in different projects as well as acquire a series of personal skills, such as organisational skills and teamwork. She will also learn how to manage social media and create an online presence for the different EU careers. In addition, she will gain access to the remote training programmes offered by EPSO.
Dissemination activities
As for initiatives to promote the programme and what it offers to students, an event is planned for Madrid between ambassadors from 4 public and private universities, around February. In addition, and already within the framework of EULiST, an online activity will be held with a partner university of the Alliance, in this case, in March.
