The purpose of the agreement is to establish the channels for carrying out dissemination, training and research activities, such as, for example, establishing a framework for intergenerational relations within the university environment or offering fundamentally active teaching and learning, in which essential theoretical content is combined with practical activities.
The General Program of the University of Seniors It is structured in two cycles; the first is divided into three consecutive courses: first, second and third, while the second stage consists of two additional courses: fourth and fifth. The Continuing Education Programme is also taught in a more flexible format, consisting of a varied four-month offer of specialized monographic seminars.
The signing of the agreement took place today, November 11, 2024, in the Rectorate building of the Móstoles Campus, with Javier Ramos López, rector of the University, and Manuel Bautista, mayor of the town. The event was also attended by Mercedes del Hoyo, vice-rector of Campus Community, Culture and Sports and José Manuel Azcona, director of the University for Seniors, while, on behalf of the City Council, Cristina Molina, Councilor for Education and Celebrations and Raquel Guerrero, Councilor for Contracting, Seniors and Social Welfare, attended.
The initiative will be launched on the day of signing and will be valid for four years, including the academic years 2024/25, 2025/26, 2026/27 and 2027/28. The university activities of the seniors will take place on the Móstoles and Alcorcón Campuses.
