Between today and tomorrow, two sessions will be held in the Ricardo Pérez Amata auditorium, which will take place all afternoon, from 15pm to 20pm. An analysis will be carried out from a multidisciplinary perspective, with the participation of specialized professors and professionals from the private sector, such as Pedro Ruiz, photographer for Sumar. They will be in charge of analyzing the representation of power in the visual media.
“We will examine how cinema and TV series portray power, both in political contexts and in social and corporate structures,” explains Manuel Álvarez Torres, director of the conference and professor of Constitutional Law. “The three previous editions were very well received, with more than 100 people registered for each one, and it is also a topic of great relevance,” he adds.
Manuel Álvarez will be in charge of opening the conference in a first session in which topics such as the figure of the president and vice president, “the image of power in historical perspective”, “Walt Disney and the stereotypes of power”, and “Conquering the public domain” will be addressed.
In the second session, the presentations will continue with topics such as “the image of the judiciary”, “the tearing of chaos”, the subversiveness of the unconscious in contemporary cinema”, and “effective verbal communication in political discourse”. To conclude the event, Manuel Álvarez, Clara Souto and Esther González, professors of Constitutional Law, will discuss the image of power in the networks in a round table.
