The program allows URJC undergraduate and postgraduate students to spend part of their university years in centers around the world. “We have agreements with 555 universities spread across 61 countries, which are divided according to the degree,” explains Pablo Salvadores, director of the Internationalization Area. Salvadores also highlights the SICUE Mobility Program, which “is less well-known and allows you to get to know other cities in our country.” This is a type of student mobility that takes place between Spanish universities.
There are 4.600 places on offer between the Erasmus + programme, which allows students to take one or more semesters at European universities, and the Munde programme, which manages mobility in non-European countries. Pablo Salvadores indicates that “the Erasmus + programme is the most in demand”. Regarding the Munde programme, he explains that “we have agreements in countries such as Morocco, Tunisia, Mexico…” and adds that “interest in Asia has grown”.
Pablo Salvadores encourages people to take part in these programmes, as doing an Erasmus programme increases the chances of finding a job by 25%. He also explains that this can provide a series of soft skills to the people who participate, which can add value to their professional profile.
Last year there were 2.400 applications to participate, of which around 1.400 people ended up doing Erasmus+ or Munde. This October, the International Mobility Information Days were held on all the university campuses, where information was provided on everything necessary to participate and the most frequently asked questions were answered. In total, 1.600 people attended these days, which are uploaded to urjc tv.
