URJC and Fuenlabrada collaborate in a recycling awareness scavenger hunt URJC and Fuenlabrada collaborate in a gymkhana to raise awareness about recycling

Within the framework of European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR 2024), the Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC) and the Fuenlabrada City Council, in collaboration with the Ciberimaginario Research Group, launch the activity “Recycle and Tell It”.

This initiative, which will take place at the Fixed Clean Point in Fuenlabrada, is designed as a citizen science gymkhana that encourages interaction between URJC students and the residents of Fuenlabrada, who will collaborate in the creation of audiovisual content to raise awareness about the circular economy and waste management.

During the activity, participants will develop practical skills to communicate sustainable practices and reflect on the importance of the circular economy, while generating audiovisual materials for dissemination on social networks, thus expanding the reach of the message and promoting environmental awareness. This activity not only seeks to educate about the importance of sustainability and proper waste management, but also to promote civic engagement through direct action, contributing to the strengthening of an environmentally responsible community.

As part of the event, the disclosure product “Know your Clean Point", developed by the Ciberimaginario Research Group, which highlights the relevance of the Fuenlabrada Clean Point in waste management.

The event, funded by the 2021th Call for Proposals for the Organization of Academic Activities of the Faculty of Communication Sciences and developed within the framework of the project “New Interactive and Immersive Narratives to Promote the Circular Economy and Social Innovation” (PID127019-00OB-IXNUMX) of the Ministry of Science and Innovation, has the collaboration of the Circular Economy Chair of the URJC and represents a concrete commitment of the URJC to sustainability and environmental education.
