During the last week before the Christmas holidays, the various university campuses will host various activities to close out the semester.

The week begins with the traditional Christmas Concert, which will take place at the Teatro de La Latina on Monday. This event will bring together the four musical groups of the university: the Choir, the Senior Choir, the Symphony Orchestra and the Chamber Group. Under the direction of Gemma Camps, they will perform a programme of selected classical, contemporary and popular pieces that cover the history of music. The event will be broadcast live and can be followed from here.

This Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 15 p.m., a Christmas sweets collection will be held on the Vicálvaro campus for the children of Cañada Real. The Association of Economics and Business Students, together with ALA and the investment and business group BIC, will participate in this lovely initiative.

The Fuenlabrada Campus will host the Christmas Sports Days that will be held between Wednesday and Thursday. During these activities, a tournament will be held between the teams already registered that represent the faculties and school of the campus in 7-a-side football, indoor football, 3-on-3 basketball and beach volleyball. Also, on Wednesday from 10:00 to 16:00, a paddle tennis tournament will take place with prizes for the top three pairs. The final phase of the tournament will take place on Thursday morning.

As a novelty, these days include the I San Silvestre Universitaria, which will have a male and female category. The race will be 1 mile and will start at the Departamental I, going through the interior of the campus and finishing at the door of the Raúl González Blanco Stadium. There will be prizes for the first three people in each category. The collection of bibs will be on Wednesday, December 18 from 11.00:15.00 a.m. to XNUMX:XNUMX p.m. Registrations are available here.

To end the day, from 16:00 p.m. to 22:00 p.m., the 'Pre-uvas Universitarias' party will take place. The cafeteria's car park will be the venue for this party, which will feature 'DJ Joana River' and other guest artists.

The last session of the programme 'La Universidad a Escena. María Stuarda' will be held on the same day from 15:00 to 17:00 pm at the Teatro Real in Madrid. During this session, participants will present their final projects and the programme diplomas will be awarded.

Finally, in order to help students during their exam period, the URJC libraries will adapt their opening hours for this Christmas. From December 16 to January 21, the libraries on the Alcorcón, Móstoles, Aranjuez and Madrid-Vicálvaro campuses will be open for thirteen uninterrupted hours, from 9:00 a.m. to 22:00 p.m., except for December 24 and 25, Tuesday 31 and Wednesday 1 January, and Monday 6 January, when they will remain closed.

To avoid crowding of students in libraries, they will have to reserve their reading place or Group Work Room through the Id-Trace application, which can be downloaded from Google Play or the Apple Store.

In this way, the URJC fills the campuses with Christmas for all tastes.
