European Researchers' Night

This event is a project to support the career of researchers, whose objective is to make visible the importance of their work for the well-being of society. Since 2005 it has been held in more than 300 European cities simultaneously. The URJC participates in the Madrid edition, coordinated by the Foundation for Knowledge madri+d.

The programme for the fifteenth edition of the European Researchers' Night in Madrid at the Rey Juan Carlos University will feature a dozen activities organised by the Fuenlabrada School of Engineering (EIF) and the Scientific Culture and Innovation Unit (UCC+I). The themes will be related to different lines of research in areas such as telecommunications, aerospace, biomedical and robotics engineering, data science and engineering, architecture, urban planning and landscaping.

This event is part of the scientific outreach project NIGHTMADRID, coordinated by the madri+d Foundation and funded by the European Union within the Horizon Europe Programme, under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions with grant agreement no. 101.162.110.

This event also has the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) – Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.

Friday, September 29, 2023, at the School of Experimental Sciences and Technology (Móstoles Campus)

The fourteenth edition of the European Night of Researchers in Madrid took place on September 29, 2023. The Rey Juan Carlos University hosted this event on the Móstoles Campus and the host was the School of Experimental Sciences and Technology. The program of activities has revolved around one of the missions set by the European Union for 2030: "A pact on soil for Europe".

This project is funded by the European Union within Horizon Europe, EU Research and Innovation Programme, under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie actions with grant agreement number 101.061.343.

This event also has the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT) – Ministry of Science and Innovation, through the Call for aid to promote scientific, technological and innovation culture 2022.

Friday, September 30, 2022, at the Faculty of Health Sciences (Alcorcón Campus)

The thirteenth edition of the European Researchers' Night in Madrid was held on September 30, 2022. The Rey Juan Carlos University has hosted this event on the Alcorcón Campus and the hostess has been the Faculty of Health Sciences. The program of activities has revolved around one of the missions set by the European Union for 2030: "Beating Cancer".

The European Night of Researchers at the URJC 2021

During this edition, held on  Friday, September 24, 2021, at the Móstoles Campus, a tour has been made of the different research projects that are being carried out at the URJC and that are linked to one or more Sustainable Development Goals. Some lines of research related to renewable energies, responsible production and consumption or water sanitation have been shown. The activities have consisted of practical workshops, escape room and games. In addition, in this edition of the Night, the URJC Green Office has collaborated.

The European Night of Researchers at the URJC 2020

This edition was held on Friday, November 27, 2020 in online format. With the slogan "How has Artificial Intelligence changed our lives?", through various activities, researchers from the Higher Technical School of Computer Engineering showed how new technologies have changed our lives and how Artificial Intelligence impacts our lives. daily life.

The European Night of Researchers at the URJC 2019

This edition was held on Friday, September 27 at the Fuenlabrada Campus. With the motto "Communication on stage", researchers from the Faculty of Communication Sciences showed the public different lines of research on science in the media and media on science.
