Around twenty people attended this event to audit university management and to discuss the issue of autonomy and responsibility of managers between French and Spanish educational institutions. The Rectorate Building hosted this event, which was attended by the person in charge of the 'Audit Cycle' project, Nicolas Durupt, and the Scientific and University Cooperation Attaché of the French Embassy, Christelle Grouzis.
Fernando García Muiña, Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation and Knowledge Transfer, explained the university's policies regarding research and the transfer and dissemination of knowledge, as well as presenting the university's own programme for the promotion and development of research and innovation.
After a short break, Andrés Martínez, Vice-Rector for Quality and Strategy, spoke about the internal structure, planning and strategy of the URJC.
The Vice-Rector for Teaching Staff, Carlos Enrique Quintero, then explained how the teaching staff selection system works.
To conclude the morning session, Pablo Acosta, professor in the area of Administrative Law, gave a lecture in which he presented the teaching perspective on the autonomy of universities.
In the afternoon, the vice president of CRUE, Juan Juliá, and the secretary general of the organization, M.ª Teresa Lozano, have explained the role of the institution in supporting the exercise of autonomy of universities, in addition to its function as an interlocutor with the State.
Finally, José Luis Benítez, president of the Student Orientation Working Group of the Convention-Student Affairs, spoke about the process of admission and recruitment of students in Spanish universities.
