La Raise Your Voice Association, Yehudi Menuhin Foundation Spain y Kunina They organize the 1st Conference on Child Sexual Abuse at the Rey Juan Carlos University.

The Fuenlabrada campus will host this event on Thursday 30 January, coinciding with the International Day of Non-Violence and Peace. Its aim is to highlight the importance of institutional and academic involvement in eradicating child sexual abuse, highlighting the role of education and social awareness as fundamental tools.

The event will feature leading experts on child sexual abuse such as Noemí Pereda, from the University of Barcelona; Lluis Ballester, from the University of the Balearic Islands; Vladimir Essau, from the University of Valencia, and Macarena Céspedes, Global Director of Advocacy and Research at the NGO Educo. In addition, students between 15 and 18 years old from high schools and universities will attend the event to contribute their voices with the aim of addressing this social scourge from different perspectives.

The inauguration will be carried out by Icíar C. Jiménez Barandalla, director of Saca tu Voz, Anabel Domínguez director of FYME and Iñaki Alonso, director of Kunina.

The conference will address affective-sexual education as a preventive tool and the ethical commitment required by the Organic Law for the Comprehensive Protection of Children and Adolescents (LOPIVI). Various experts will participate in a round table to analyze the way of educating for the prevention of these crimes against minors.

In addition, various practical workshops will be held, including innovative dynamics with young people, such as an educational escape room and artistic activities designed to work on the prevention of child sexual abuse through theatre and the culture of good treatment.

The event will culminate with a closing and thank you session, led by the main organizers. Admission is free and registration is available here.
