The challenge, which is now in its third edition, aims to encourage blood donation on university campuses throughout Spain. On this occasion, the initiative has reached record numbers, surpassing previous editions and achieving a total of 17.936 effective donations throughout the country.

The role of the URJC Healthy University Office has been key in organizing and disseminating the campaign, promoting participation on all its campuses. In Alcorcón, 104 people managed to donate blood; in Fuenlabrada, 99; in Móstoles, 130; in Quintana, 30; and in Vicálvaro, 76. In addition, more than 250 students and university staff members participated for the first time, reflecting the growing awareness of the importance of donations.

REUPS highlights that, on this occasion, “the figures achieved in the first two editions of the challenge have been exceeded again. Of the 10.371 donations made in 2022 and the 11.350 that were achieved in 2023, 17.936 effective donations have been made this year.” In addition, approximately 5.700 new donors have participated this year, “which indicates an increasing involvement and awareness of the importance of donating blood,” the organization highlights.
