This master's degree aims to train future professionals capable of applying data science, artificial intelligence and advanced analysis to the sports field, responding to the growing demand for experts in technology applied to sport.
The programme combines theory and practice, covering areas such as Big Data, machine learning, predictive analytics and advanced data visualisation. Students will learn to use computational tools and techniques to interpret data related to sports performance, tactics, injury prevention and club and federation management strategies.
The curriculum, made up of 60 ECTS credits, includes subjects ranging from the collection and processing of sports data to its analysis and interactive visualisation. The master's degree is aimed at graduates in computer science, mathematics, statistics, sports science or engineering, as well as professionals in the sports field who wish to specialise in data analysis.
Isaac Martín de Diego, director of the degree and professor of Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at the University, says that hosting a course of this nature is highly positive for the university since: “The fact that it is the only master's degree of this nature in Spain will allow the arrival of students from other universities and from other geographical areas.” Martín de Diego adds that, being part of a public university, “it will allow the teachings to be oriented towards a more technical method, responding more effectively to the current needs of companies.”
The pre-registration period for the 2025-2026 academic year will be managed through this link and will be available until March 19; subsequently, if there are still places, another period will open from April 25 to June 22, finally students will have a last opportunity to enroll in a last extraordinary period enabled from August 26 to September 2.
