Once again this year, the Rey Juan Carlos University will host a seminar on International Relations, which will be held this week in the auditorium of the Management Building on the Fuenlabrada campus. The objective of the event, which can be followed through TV URJC, aims to ensure that numerous analysts, diplomats and journalists are able to bring attendees closer to universal reality.

This year, in addition to the talks by various experts, there will be a dedicated space for speakers and students to meet. To this end, the "Café of the Conference" section has been created, a time for refreshments so that professionals and students can interact and exchange knowledge.

Regarding the topics to be discussed, the talks will cover such diverse aspects as the hidden conflict in the Congo and the silent rearmament of Morocco on the first day, and the eternal conflict between Taiwan and China, which will be addressed on Wednesday afternoon. In addition, other issues of international significance will be discussed, such as the Javier Milei government in Argentina, strategic and geopolitical factors in the Middle East, and electoral fraud and political repression in Venezuela. Finally, on Friday, the impact of the United States elections on global geopolitics and the system of direct democracy in Switzerland will be discussed, before concluding with a lecture on data protection in the European Union.

A congress made by and for students

As has been the case since its inception five years ago, the organization of the events falls to students of the URJC International Relations degree program. In this regard, Luis Alfonso Fanjul, a student of the program and a member of the organizing committee, noted that "people are very surprised when they discover that we are the ones promoting these campaigns. It's a space created by and for students."

Fanjul also emphasized the importance of hosting this initiative for the University: "Having this close relationship with such high-level experts is very enriching for the entire university community and highly beneficial for the URJC itself as an institution," he concluded.
